Children who read a certain number of books during summer holidays will get a medal for their hard work.
The awards are part of the Summer Reading Challenge which will be taking place this Summer at Hertfordshire libraries and aims to encourage children to read more.
Children will get their medal for reading six books and then telling library staff about what they have read.
The challenge is open to children of all ages and reading ability with more than 12,000 youngsters from across the county taking part in last year’s big read.
Those interested in signing up to this year’s challenge can go to www.hertsdirect.org/libraries or call 0300 1234 049.
