A fashion retailer, recently bought out of administration, has announced it will be closing its branch in Borehamwood.
Bon Marche, in Shenley Road, will be closing down despite the chain being bought out of administration by private equity firm Sun European Partners last month.
The group bought the chain after its umbrella company Peacock’s went into administration last month and was looking for a buyer for the business.
At the time of buying Bon Marche, Sun European Partners said it would continue to run 230 of the stores but close 160 others, which could lead to a possible 1,400 redundancies.
A spokesperson from Bon Marche said there is no set closing date for the store and the branch is closing due to a decline in customers in the current economic climate.
