OUTDOOR exercise equipment is to be put in an Elstree park from grant money issued this week.
Parkfields, in Watling Street, will receive the equipment donated from WIIS (Ward Improvement Initiative Scheme) money from Councillors Morris Bright and Derrick Gunasekera (Conservative, Elstree)who have each allocated their whole £2,000 budget for this year for the equipment.
Cllr Bright, leader of Hertsmere Borough Council, said: "I think the outdoor equipment is a great idea and can be used by people of all ages. What better way to exercise than outside in the fresh air in one of our beautiful parks."
People can make a bid for cash to improve the area they live by using the council's WIIS, which allows each Hertsmere councillor to spend £2,000 on projects within their ward.
Grants were this week also given by Borehamwood Cowley Hill Councillor Ernie Butler (Labour), Councillor Di Hoeksma (Labour) and Councillor Ann Harrison (Labour) towards materials and equipment for the Theatre Club Kids group in Borehamwood.
The councillors gave £500 each towards the club.
Councillor Dan Griffin (Conservative, Aldenham West) gave £145 towards works to the pathway at Rendlesham Avenue, Radlett.
