SPRING had definitely sprung at the weekend as a flower show in Potters Bar displayed the best of the season's blooms.
Potters Bar and District Horticultural Society hosted its annual Spring flower show at Elm Court, Mutton Lane on Saturday afternoon.
There were 144 exhibits shown by 19 of the society's members, featuring everything from daffodils and tulips to jars of homemade marmalade and Easter biscuits.
Society chairman Bryan Stutter said: "We get outside judges in and obviously the standards are not as good as Chelsea, but it is judged to Royal Horticultural Society standards.
"Everyone did really well, bearing in mind the weather we have had."
Dave Davies of The Shrublands took home the trophies for the best daffodils and for the most overall points, while the Jubilee trophy for best bloom went to Enfield resident Jean Green, and the Novice Narcissus trophy to Richard Gillette of Potters Bar.
The society will hold its summer show in Elm Court on June 26.
