A MOBILE surgery is being held today in a Golders Green school to help find bone marrow donors.

The recruitment clinic will take place from 3.30pm to 8.30pm at King Alfred School, in North End Road.

It is being organised by the Anthony Nolan Trust, which works to connect leukaemia patients with matching donors, who are kept on a register.

The trust, based in Hampstead, relies on volunteers to help organise the community clinics and is urging people to attend the event, which is just five minutes from Golders Green Tube station.

Anyone aged between 18 and 40 who is in good health will have a small blood sample taken today. The results will then be analysed to see if they match patients on the trust's database.

Organisers said they desperately needed more men and people from ethnic minorities to join the register to help to try to save more lives.
