MUSICIANS will lead a Christmas carol sing-along in Hornsey to raise money for the hospice that cared for conductor David Honeyball during his battle with cancer.

Mr Honeyball had been the driving force behind the annual festive concert held at The Three Compasses, in High Street, Hornsey, which was cancelled last year due to his illness.

But On Saturday, December 19, the popular pub will re-stage the sing-along in his honour and help raise money for the North London Hospice, the charity that supported Mr Honeyball in the months leading up to his death.

Landlord Nigel Oxford said: "David Honeyball was the main force behind organising the music and the musicians and following his death the sing-along had to be cancelled.

"David had been a patient at the North London Hospice so it is particularly fitting that the money raised this year would be going to them."

Local musicians Katie Lang and Mike Henderson will lead guests in renditions of Yuletide favourites including Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland and White Christmas.

The pair have picked up where Mr Honeyball left off and have organised a line-up of Haringey's musical talent to help the tunes start on the right note.

Mr Oxford added: "With the recession, charities are finding it harder to maintain their income so we're hoping lots of people will come to enjoy themselves and give generously to the hospice".

The show starts at 8pm.
