The body of murdered Sapper Patrick Azimkar will fly home today.
Arrangements to return the 21-year-old's coffin back to England have been made privately.
Members of his family visited the army barracks in Antrim, Northern Ireland, yesterday to lay tributes at the place where he died.
A service, led by a senior chaplain in Northern Ireland, was held at the Massereene Barracks to allow soldiers to bid a final farewell to their colleagues.
They lined the route and saluted as the cortege passed through the gates.
Funerals are expected to take place next week.
