Tottenham defender Ledley King has undergone a successful knee operation in a bid to regain his fitness ahead of the new season.
The 30-year-old, who currently struggles to play more than once a week, underwent an arthroscopy on Monday and is expected to be able to return to training at the beginning of August.
The surgery means he misses Spurs pre-season tour of South Africa, but it is hoped that the defender, who managed only nine appearances last season, will feature much more heavily this campaign.
