Spurs insist Chelsea target Modric is not for sale

Despite receiving a £27m bid for playmaker Luca Modric from Premier League rivals Chelsea, Tottenham remain adamant that the Croatian playmaker is not for sale.
The North london club have insisted that Modric, 25, is not for sale at any price, and the midfielder, despite publically expressing his desire to join the Blues, is expected to travel with the team on Wednesday for thier pre-season trip to South Africa.
Chelsea's newest bid comes after news that midfielder Michael Essien faces up to six months on the sidelines, after rupturing a cruciate ligament, in pre-season training.
