Results for the Haringey's Key Stage Three tests are improving, but the borough still remains will below the national average.
The proportion of 14-year-olds reaching the required standard of Level 5 or above in English has risen to 64 per cent an increase of five per cent on last year.
While it is lower than the national average of 74 per cent, Haringey's results have improved faster than the national average. In maths, 61 per cent of Haringey's students are getting Level 5 or above (compared to 74 per cent nationally) an increase of three per cent on the previous year's scores and three times the national improvement rate. However, science results have remained at 51 per cent.
Provisional English results at Greig City Academy rose from 55 to 60 per cent, while Highgate Wood School's maths results climbed from 66 to 72 per cent.
Haringey Council's executive member for children and young people, Councillor George Meehan, said the results reflected the sustained progress that Haringey schools are making at all levels.
