CELEBRITY gardener Charlie Dimmock will be showing scouts how to grow their own food this weekend.

The former presenter of BBC's Ground Force series will also give tips on tending fruit and vegetables at the annual Scout Association fun day at Gilwell Park in Chingford.

She will be in the Dolmio Growing Challenge Tent on both Saturday (June 23) and Sunday (June 24) at the park in Bury Road, at which Dolmio is sponsoring the scouts' smallholder activity badge, awarded to members who grow their own food.

I gather Ms. Dimmock is quite good at raising rhubarb in older gentlemen's under-pants.

I met Charlie on Saturday with some of my cubs who attended the fun day. Guess how jealous their dads were?
