A KILLER who stabbed a man to death in a revenge attack has failed in his attempt to get his eight-year jail sentence reduced.

Delano Forbes, 36, of New Road, Ilford, was last year found guilty of killing father-of-one Kevin McFarlane on February 8, 2008.

A murder charge was changed to manslaughter by provocation after it emerged Forbes killed Mr McFarlane in revenge for an earlier knife attack.

Mr McFarlane, of Hainault Road, Leytonstone, was stabbed to death after an argument in Plaistow Road, Stratford, leaving his wife Shantelle and baby daughter Kashan.

Earlier in the day Mr McFarlane had stabbed Forbes, the Old Bailey heard at the time.

They later had an argument in a bookmakers and Forbes chased Mr McFarlane into a hair salon, before slashing him in the face and stabbing him in the back.

At the Appeal Court, Mr Justice Kenneth Parker said Forbes' eight-year jail term was not excessive, and dismissed the appeal.

The dismissed appeal will come as a relief to Mr McFarlane's widow Shantelle, who slammed the original sentence as too short.
