WANSTEAD: Decision on Pie & Mash shop extension next week
OWNERS of a Pie and Mash shop will hear if their plans to build an extension have been accepted next Wednesday (July 4).
The owners of Robins Pie & Mash in Wanstead High Street want to replace a temporary covered awning on the Wanstead Place side of the shop with a permanent single storey side extension.
Planning officers are recommending that councillors grant the request.
The plan is opposed by Peter Jefferies of Wanstead Place.
He said: “The pie shop already creates parking problems as a significant number of its customers park opposite the shop on double yellow lines as they can watch for wardens easily.
“I strongly object to their temporary nuisance enclosure being turned into a permanent one.”
The Council’s own Conservation Advisory Panel have also objected on the grounds that the proposed extension would be visually intrusive and constitute overdevelopment.
