A GROUP that will focus on opportunities and activities for young people has been set up by the council.
The Youth Services Scrutiny Working Group was formed in light of the budget savings that have been made in youth services, and will consider what the future holds for young people in Redbridge during these times of austerity.
The group has launched an online survey for young people to complete that they hope will give them a better idea of what provisions for them in the borough are like and what services they would like to have in their area.
Chairman of the group Cllr Aziz Choudhury said: “"We know it is a difficult time for many of our young people and with unknown prospects brought about by unemployment, the recent riots and rise in youth crime in London, many young people continue to feel disenfranchised and disaffected.
"All of these issues will impact on youth services in Redbridge and we want to hear directly from young people about their experiences and priorities for the future."
