CHILDREN collected more than 50 bags of recycling for a school project.
School pupils at Wells Primary School in Woodford Green stuffed old clothes and shoes as well as curtains and bedding into bags ready to be recycled as part of an initiative to teach the kids about the environment.
Children from all classes at the school in Barclay Oval took part in the week-long project and formed an Eco Council, which designed posters and raised awareness of the campaign to encourage pupils to take part.
Eco co-ordinator Heather Bostock, said: “The children have been so keen and enthusiastic to help out.
“It’s a really important project because it shows children just how much you can recycle and encourages them to think about the environment.”
