Man arrested after girl's body found in Barkingside flat

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the death of a girl.
The 21-year-old man is being questioned after the body of the 17-year-old was found in a flat above a shop in Barkingside yesterday (February 7).
Police were called to reports of a disturbance at 4pm and it has been reported that the girl died after the London Ambulance Service arrived at about the same time to try and save her.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course. We are in the process of informing next of kin and there has not been a formal identification yet.”
Police refused reveal what the man is being held on suspicion of.
