Body of young man found in Temple Fortune garden
A MAN who died in the garden of a Temple Fortune flat early this morning may have been the victim of a “tragic accident”, police said.
The 20-year-old was found unconscious in the rear garden of an address in Ashbourne Avenue, at about 1.15am.
Paramedics and a crew of doctors from the air ambulance treated the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said he had “serious facial injuries” when they found him, but the exact cause of death is yet to be established.
Officers confirmed they are keeping an open mind on the cause of death, but in a statement, they said: “Early indications are that this may have been a tragic accident, as the man was found below a large open window.”
A number of residents at the address and neighbours have been interviewed, police said, but anyone who may have further information is urged to contact detectives looking into the case.
The deceased is believed to be from Poland and police are currently making efforts to contact the next of kin.
Anyone with information should phone Barnet CID on 020 8733 4595 and ask for Detective Constable Prav Bansropun or Detective Sergeant Simon Davies.
Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and quote reference 448/30Mar.
