A CASUALTY has been airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Loughton Lane, in Theydon Bois, this afternoon.
Emergency crews were called out shortly before 4pm.
Firefighters spent about half-an-hour cutting the injured person from the wreckage and were continuing to work to free the second casualty.
The road was closed as firefighters from Harlow, Epping and Loughton as well as road policing officers dealt with the incident.
The air ambulance, which was scrambled ten minutes after the first emergency call was received, landed on The Green.
One of the casualties - who was taken the several hundred yards from the crash scene to the helicopter on a stretcher in a road ambulance - was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
No other details about the incident are available.
