Arrests after Vicarage Road break-in

Police borrowed thermal imaging equipment from the fire service to help find two men who had broken into Vicarage Road stadium.

Officers were called to the home of Watford FC and Saracens at around 12.15am yesterday morning following reports of people inside the ground.

And because the police helicopter, which is fitted with thermal imaging equipment, was already in use officers borrowed the special infrared gear to trace them.

Officers then apprehended the two men inside the stadium.

Kerry Reynolds, a 24-year-old man from Highlands, in Watford, has since been charged with burglary and assaulting a police officer.

A second man, also from Watford, also remains in custody.
