SPEEDING motorists could face court as police crack down this week on those breaking the limit.

Thames Valley Police will be taking part in the European Traffic Police Network campaign from today until Sunday.

Officers will conduct random speed checks throughout the Thames Valley area at all times of the day and night.

Offenders could get a summons to attend court or a Fixed Penalty Notice.

During last year’s campaign, 1,329 drivers got such penalties.

Sgt Chris Appleby, from the Joint Roads Policing Department, said: “This campaign is another example of the determination and continuous commitment of Thames Valley Police to tackle the issue of speeding in our communities.

"Drivers who choose to break the law will be prosecuted.”
