BUCKINGHAMSHIRE New University has been named as one of the best in the country for courses and lecturers by students who cast their votes online.
The university was ranked in the top slots alongside St Andrews, Oxford, and Durham on the 'Hotcourses' website www.whatuni.com The recognition was based entirely on reviews posted by students and graduates.
The website is designed to help future undergraduate students make informed decisions about which university to attend.
The recently established site has registered over 3,000 reviews in its first five months.
In commemoration of the award, Vice Chancellor of Bucks New University received an official certificate signed by Baroness Estelle Morris of Yardley, Pro Vice-Chancellor of University of Sunderland and Advisory Board Member.
Dr Farwell said: "Our primary aim is put students first so it is fantastic for us to be recognised by our students for the quality of our courses and lecturers."
Baroness Estelle Morris said: "I think these awards are a highly welcome and important addition to information channels available to prospective students."
Mike Elms, founder of Hotcourses added: "In the end the opinions expressed in these reviews are what matter most, as they are the views of the students and so, many congratulations to all the universities that have done well."
A recent Hotcourses survey discovered sixth form students rated the importance of current university students’ knowledge and experience above that of their peers.
