LEYTONSTONE: Whipps murder victim died from stab wounds to neck
A MAN murdered in the grounds of Whipps Cross University Hospital died from stab wounds to the neck.
Police believe they know the identity of the killer, a Chinese man in his thirties who is an acquaintance of the victim, but have yet to make an arrest.
The murder weapon was found close to the scene of the attack in the grounds of the Leytonstone hospital.
Police say a woman in her 20s, who had been treated at the hospital for a minor ailment, was seen with the men prior to the attack.
The three were seen standing close to a white vehicle in a car park close to the eye clinic.
The killer ran from the scene on foot.
He was wearing a light-coloured jacket which police believe will be blood-stained.
The 31-year-old victim was found by hospital staff who treated him at the scene at around 8.30pm on Monday. He was pronounced dead half an hour later.
A post mortem was carried out last night Tuesday at Walthamstow Queens Road Mortuary.
the identity of the victim, a Chinese national from Walthamstow who had been settled in the UK for some time, has yet to be released as next of kin are yet to be informed.
Police are conducting door to door inquiries and are interviewing hospital staff and checking CCTV.
