LEYTONSTONE: £20,000 reward offered in murder investigation
Police want to speak to Delano Forbes
Police want to speak to Delano Forbes
A £20,000 reward has been offered by police investigating the murder of a Leytonstone man.

Kevin McFarlane, 27, of Hainault Road, was killed on February 8 in Stratford.

Police are keen to talk to 35-year-old Delano Forbes, aka 'Lexus'(pictured).

The reward is being offered for information leading to a sucessful arrest and prosecution.

Mr McFarlane was found with several stab wounds to the head and upper body by police, after a call from a member of the public.

He was taken to hospital and died on February 10.

A post mortem at East Ham mortuary two days later gave cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

Detectives believe Kevin and a friend became involved in an argument with two men near the William Hill bookmakers in Plaistow Road.

A fight broke out and Kevin managed to run off but he was chased by the men.

He sought refuge in a shop but a man followed him in.

A further scuffle ensued and Kevin was fatally stabbed.

The suspect was seen in Geere Road shortly afterwards.

Kevin was spotted trying to wave down traffic in Plaistow Road and police are appealing to anyone who saw him to contact them.

A police spokesman said detectives think he knew the suspects but are keeping an open mind over any motive.

A/DCI Hill said: "This incident occurred in the evening when people will have been coming home from work, as well as making their way out to socialise. I would appeal to anyone that was in the area and may have seen something, or Kevin trying to flag down a car, to come forward and help us find the killer."

A 36-yr-old woman was arrested on February 12 on suspicion of aiding and abetting an offender and bailed to return pending further enquiries to an east London police station in June.

A 44-yr-old man was also arrested on Februry 14 on suspicion of murder and bailed to return at the same time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 8345 3715, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
