Greenwich landmarks up for awards
THREE landmarks in Greenwich have been nominated for prestigious awards.
Peninsula Square, the O2 Arena and the Royal Observatory have all been shortlisted for the annual London Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards.
The Royal Observatory has been short-listed in the building conservation category thanks to the restoration of its south building and new planetarium.
In the regeneration category, the O2 has been nominated for its meteroic rise to become the UK's premier concert venue.
Peninsula Square, London's largest new square for 150 years, has been short-listed for the community benefit award.
Other nominated landmarks in the capital include St Pancras Station in Kings Cross and the rebuilding of the North Gallery of St George's Church in Bloomsbury.
Winners in each category will go on to compete in the grand final later this year.
They will be announced at the Emirates Stadium on May 19.
