Disco to tie-dye for raises charity cash
 |
| Facing the World volunteer Lizzie Searjeant and Dean Fogarty enjoy the 1970's themed night which raised money for the charity |
A DISCO has been held to help raise money for children with severe facial disfigurement.
The 1970s-themed disco was held at The Co-op Club, Burrage Road, Woolwich, to raise cash for charity Facing the World.
The charity provides free reconstructive surgery in the UK to children from some of the world's poorest countries.
More than 50 people attended the disco, which raised around £600.
Performing arts teacher and Facing The World volunteer Ms Searjeant is teaching some of the children helped by the charity to dance for a special performance at Blackheath Concert Halls, Lee Road, Blackheath, on September 27.
Facing the World volunteer Lizzie Searjeant said: "When the children came to the country they were outsiders who suffered stares from strangers and the torment of being treated differently.
"Thanks to Facing the World they now have a new-found confidence and new faces to match."
