Reigate and Banstead stay in Tory control
There were no great surprises in the election results in Mole Valley and Reigate and Banstead, apart from a British National Party candidate coming in second place in Chipstead, Hooley and Woodmansterne.

In Mole Valley there were 13 seats up for election and there was no overall change in the political composition of the council. This means the political balance remains at 22 Conservatives, three independents and 16 Liberal Democrats.

In Reigate and Banstead, Conservatives dropped two seats which went to independent and Lib Dem candidates, but the council still remains heavily Conservative dominated.

The make up of the council is now Conservative 39, independent two , Labour one, Lib Dem three and Residents Association, six.
