| Is another election victory on the horizon for Ken Livingstone? |
THE elections for the Mayor of London and the London Assembly are taking place tomorrow and on Friday we will have latest news on the results direct from the counts.
There are ten candidates, including the current holder Ken Livingstone, standing for Mayor of London, while current London Assembly member Joanne McCartney (Labour) is defending her seat against four challengers.
Mr Livingstone's main rivals for one of the most powerful positions in politics are Conservative hopeful Boris Johnson and Liberal Democrat Brian Paddick.
Also standing are Sian Berry (Green), Richard Barnbrook (BNP), Lindsay German (Left List), Matt O'Connor (English Democrats), Gerard Batten (UK Independence Party), Alan Craig (Christian Choice) and independent candidate and former boxer Winston McKenzie.
Also in the hunt for a seat on the London Assembly are current Enfield councillor Matthew Laban (Conservative), Pete McAskie (Green), Brian Hall (UKIP) and Segun Johnson (Christian Alliance).
Visit this website from early on Friday afternoon for all the results and reaction from both Alexandra Palace, where the Enfield and Haringey London Assembly count takes place, and from City Hall, where the result for the next Mayor of London will be held.
