LEYTONSTONE: Woman celebrates centenary

A WOMAN turned 100 years old last week.

Violet Morton celebrated her centenary with her friends at The Manor care home in Leytonstone on Thursday, June 21.

The former dress maker got a card from the Queen and cut her cake surrounded by family and friends as well as Mayor of Waltham Forest Richard Sweden.

Manager of the care home in Hainault Road, Norma Dimaiwat, said: "Violet's so friendly and warm with everybody and everyone loves her."
