A DAY of activities has been lined up for children in the Harvey Centre, Harlow, next Friday (October 31) to celebrate the spookiest day of the year.
Excited children can get animated with a Halloween-themed workshop where they can combine frightening ideas and crafty skills to make terrifying creations.
Then, later in the afternoon there will still be a chance to join in the hocus-pocus magic with a supervised ‘Trick or Treating’ trail around participating stores.
Children can join the team of trail staff to take them around the centre for some safe trick or treating. The tricksters will visit spooky stores without leaving the shelter of the Centre. Selected stores will be waiting to give out tasty treats to those on the trail, so that they can be lucky enough to avoid a terrifying trick.
A prize will be awarded for the best costume. Parents can help children bursting with Halloween ideas to use those arty fingers to make a creepy, frightening, spooky costume and the best one will win a prize.
Harvey Centre manager Bryan Young said: “Kids love dressing up for Halloween so we’ve always been keen to organise events for the day.
“This year however, is the first time we’ve run a safe trick or treating trail. We have the perfect environment to organise such an event. You don’t need to worry about the weather and our safe and secure environment takes further stress out of the festivities.”
