Essex Police appeal for information after burglars steal jewellery and coins from house in Fairlands Avenue, Buckhurst Hill

BURGLARS broke into a house while the occupant was away, stealing jewellery and coins and causing £200 of damage.

Detectives have appealed for information after intruders forced a window to break into the property in Fairlands Avenue between 3pm on Saturday (September 8) and 1.30pm on Saturday (September 15).

Items of jewellery including five rings, a bracelet, a pocket watch and a wrist watch were stolen, as well as a collection of farthing and shilling coins.

Damage to the broken window was estimated at £200.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the street or who has information about small items of jewellery being sold in suspicious circumstances should contact the investigating officer DC Liz Young at Harlow target offender team on 101.
