AN EXPANDING arts centre has announced funding to create 56 additional jobs.
Theatre Resource, based at Great Stony, in Ongar High Street, has been awarded a £364,000 contract by the Department of Work and Pensions to create more jobs for local young people.
The arts company, which specialises in projects for the disabled, has said it will create 56 jobs lasting six months each in the next year-and-a-half for people aged 18 to 24.
New posts available will include roles in IT, administration, and marketing and will pay £6.14 an hour.
Head of communications and development for Theatre Resource John Baraldi said: “Not only will our Future Jobs Fund employees have an interesting job with us and our partners, but we also hope they will gain confidence, new skills, new interests and a better chance of securing their next job.”
Theatre Resource recently announced it had received £6.2million to build a new arts complex in Ongar.
Young people interested in the new positions should enquire at their local jobcentre.
