ONGAR: Club hit by copycat thefts

POLICE are appealing for information after two copycat thefts from ticket machines at Ongar Social and Sports Club.
Two machines were damaged when thieves broke in to the club using a side door between last Wednesday night (January 20) 7.30pm and 9am Thursday.
After smashing the devices they made off with a "two-figure sum" of money according to police.
It followed a similar incident on Sunday January 3 when cash was stolen after another machine was ripped from the wall at the club, in Love Lane, sometime between 9.30pm and 11.30pm.
