The sounds of Radiohead, Johnny Cash, Deep Purple and Amy Winehouse will fill the Queen’s Theatre, as the diverse D’Ukes (pictured) take to the stage.
Since forming in 2009, the ukele band have played venues all around London and the south of England at theatres, festivals, pubs and special events.
They have performed on BBC radio and established their own annual ukulele festival, D’Ukulele.
Last year the band ventured out of the UK into Europe for a brief tour of the Czech Republic  followed by live events in the UK around the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, the London Olympics and a TV appearance on Channel 5’s Big Brother.
So far this year, D’Ukes have played a number of venues including the legendary Half Moon in Putney where many artistes such as the Rolling Stones, The Who and the Small Faces crafted their musical skills back in the ‘60s. Last month they sold out Chelmsford’s Cramphorn Theatre and ran their fourth very successful D’Ukulele Festival. Mixing old and new songs, the eight members create a varied show.
D’UKES can be seen at the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch on June 2. Details: 01708 443333, queens-theatre.co.uk
