POLICE have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection to the theft of a beloved family pet in Sawbridgeworth.
The dog, a female Suluki Lurcher cross with short blonde hair, was taken from outside Budgens on London Road, on September 27, shortly before 1pm.
Her owner, a 38 year old local man, had secured her along with a second dog outside the shop.
While he was in the Budgens store a man approached the dogs and untied one of them.
PC Victoria Richards from the Safer Neighbourhood Team in Sawbridgeworth is investigating the incident and said: “The man is very upset about what has happened. I would like to speak with the man shown in the CCTV in connection with the incident. If he or anyone who believes they know who he is can contact police. It would be wonderful to reunite the dog with his owner.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Victoria Richards at Sawbridgeworth Police Station on 01992 533140. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. You do not have to give your name and you could be entitled to a cash reward.
