POLICE are warning people to keep their eyes peeled for a set of valuable antiques stolen from a house in Much Hadham last week.
The items were stolen shortly before 3am on Friday, October 24 from a property in the village.
The offenders broke in through the rear of the property and made away with several valuable and rare items, before they were forced to flee after being disturbed by the intruder alarm.
The stolen items include a rare Charles II period walnut table clock, with the inscription "Joseph Knibb Londini Fecit" engraved on to a plate on the rear, a late George III period bow front mahogany barometer, with the makers mark: Thomas Rubergall, Coventry Street, London.
A George II silver lemon strainer, A provincial lemon strainer by Pentecost, and a Gowland Carriage Clock were also stolen.
Detective Sergeant Tim Johnson from the Burglary and Robbery team at Hoddesdon Police Station, said: “The owners of the items stolen are understandably upset by the burglary and are very keen to trace the stolen antiques.
“I would strongly encourage people to come forward if they have seen any of the items described, or if they have been offered them for sale."
