Blown away by recorder festival
YOUNGSTERS have enjoyed taking part in a two-day recorder festival.
More than 300 children aged from eight to 11 from 17 north Kent primary schools practised and performed at the Woodville Halls, Woodville Place, Gravesend, on April 30 and May 1.
Eleven youngsters aged from 12 to 17 from the charity Kent Music, which provides music tuition to youngsters in the county, also took part.
Solo and group performances were followed by a grand finale which involved all the musicians playing together.
The annual Thameside Schools Music Association Recorder Festival has been running for more than 40 years.
Association secretary Christine Hammond, who
organised the event, says this year's event was bigger and better than ever.
She said: "They all performed beautifully and the hundreds of people in the crowd for both nights thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
"This was the biggest event we have held and it was a huge success."
