Helping deliver plans for homes and jobs
 |
| Paul Williams is the acting chief executive of the board |
AN ACTING chief executive has been appointed to help deliver 30,000 new homes and 50,000 new jobs across north Kent over the next 30 years.
Paul Williams has taken over Michael Ward's position at the Kent Thameside Delivery Board.
The 60-year-old, who is married with two children, moves to the role after a four-year spell as the delivery board's environmental manager.
He will take charge until a permanent replacement is found.
Mr Williams said: "There is still a great deal to be done and I aim to utilise the momentum which has now built up.
"I am committed to ensuring the development here meets the needs of the existing community as well as delivering the very highest quality of development."
Mr Ward resigned late last year to become chief executive of the British Urban Regeneration Association.
The delivery board is overseeing the Thames Gateway regeneration project in Dartford and Gravesham.

I hope the first thing he does is to change the name: Thameside is meaningless (side of the Thame?): it should be Thames-side
