CHIGWELL: Police meet youths to discuss crime issues
ESSEX Police have met with youths on the Limes Farm to discuss crime and disorder on the estate.
Six youths from the Chigwell estate put themselves forward for the youth Neighbourhood Action Panel, and in an hour-long meeting with police spoke about their experiences of living in the community which saw the murder of 14-year-old Jack Large last November.
Two priorities were agreed at the meeting - to provide alternative activities for young people and to look at the resourcing and opening hours of the police office.
Inspector Simon Werrett, who is leading the initiative, said: "This was a positive meeting. We're listening to the young people to identify their priorities. There's a lot of good work going on in Limes Farm by our partners and this just re-enforces the fact we're all working in the right direction to improve the quality of life and service for those who live in this area of Chigwell."
