A SECURITY guard was robbed of a cash box as he went to make a delivery at Chigwell Station this morning.
Police said two black men approached the GS Security guard outside the station in the High Road shortly after 10am, grabbing the cash box and driving off in a silver P-reg Vauxhall Corsa car.
No weapon was used and the security guard was not injured. The station reopened shortly before noon.
Speaking at the scene, Harlow-based Detective Sergeant Paul Malleary confirmed: "There has been a snatch of a bag containing a sum of money and I can confirm that was from a security van.".
Anyone who saw the robbery or the car, or who has any other information, should ring Harlow Police Station on 01279 641212 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
