A 65-YEAR-OLD retired woman was left "very distressed" after being pushed over when she was robbed of her handbag in Chigwell.
The Ilford woman was walking in Bracken Drive shortly before noon on Monday when she was grabbed from behind by a man. Police said he held his hand over her mouth, pushed her to the floor and grabbed her handbag containing her purse, wallet, credit cards and £200 cash.
The woman injured her shoulder but did not require hospital treatment.
The robber was 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a light green jacket with a hood.
Anyone with information should ring crime reduction officer Tony Ellis on 01279 625525.
