CHIGWELL: 'Hump' idea for Brook Parade
ROAD humps could be installed in Brook Parade, Chigwell, after parish councillors agreed to discuss the possibility with Essex County Council.
Residents have complained to the parish council that the road is often used by speeding motorists, particularly at night, and councillors have passed on the concerns to the county council's highways department.
The county council has said its highways budget for this year has already been approved but parish councillors have agreed to continue consultation into the new year.
Parish council chairman John Stone said: "We support anything that would make the roads safer. There are quite a few motorists who drive down there very fast. We're looking to get better information to see if it's a possibility."
