Couple open garden for charity
VISITORS to an open garden have raised thousands of pounds for a children's charity.
Fundraiser Janet Berlin and her husband Marc opened their garden in Downs Hill, Beckenham, to the public.
The event attracted 400 visitors and raised £2,443 for children's charity the NSPCC.
Money was collected for the charity through visitor donations and the sale of 800 plants.
Mrs Berlin, 60, said: "My husband and I are fanatical gardeners and between us we built this garden.
"We decided it would be nice to show it off and share it."
It is the 24th year the couple have held the event.
