| Wickham Common Primary School's wind ensemble perform at the opening of the refurbished library |
CELEBRATIONS have been held to mark the opening of a refurbished school library.
Bromley mayor Councillor Pauline Tunnicliffe took part in an unveiling ceremony at Wickham Common Primary School, Gates Green Road, Coney Hall, West Wickham.
Pupils, staff, governors and parent teacher association (PTA) members attended the event, which also included a performance by the school's wind ensemble.
The £27,385 cost of the refurbishment was paid for with funds raised by the PTA.
Vice-chairman of governors Tony Warran said: "This is a wonderful achievement to turn a drab, uninviting room, which had doubled up as a sick room, into what we have today.
"It is a magnificent tribute to all the hard work put in by many people and the governors are extremely grateful the PTA managed to raise this phenomenal sum."
