Missing person: Kay Ziv

THE family of a missing woman from Sidcup have urged their "wonderful mum" to come home.

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Kay Ziv, a 41-year-old mum of two, who went missing on May 1.

Mrs Ziv, who suffers from depression and was on medication, left her home in Walton Road and was last seen in a bank in Sidcup on the same day, where she withdrew £30 from her account.

Detective Sergeant David Williams from Bexley police said: "With every day which goes by, our concerns about Mrs Ziv grow stronger."

Alon, Mrs Ziv's husband of 11 years, said feelings of shame about her condition may have made his wife to hide from those she knows.

The graphic designer, 39, said: "She may be trying to hide from the world.

"She doesn't want to interact with the people she knows."

Mrs Ziv, an occupational therapist, has two daughters - Yasmin, six, and Maia, four.

After working for Bexley Council's social services department with elderly people for many years, she retrained about nine months ago to work with children.

Mr Ziv added: "Yasmin, Maia and I love her, and hope to see her come back.

"She is a wonderful mum and most of the time she is a fantastic person."

He said his wife has suffered from clinical depression before, but she has never disappeared, and usually makes a recovery after a few weeks.

Mr Ziv added: "Before she went missing, she had been depressed for two weeks and had been in bed.

"Every few years she suffered from depression, but never as bad as this."

He said his wife enjoys walking with her family and their dog in Foots Cray Meadows, but Mr Ziv thinks she may have gone further afield to hide.

Mr Ziv said: "It looks like she left on impulse.

"Perhaps she has found a hostel or a commune, or she is sleeping rough in a doorway.

"Her state of mind is completely detached from the people she knows. She may have gone to an extreme to hide."

Her only surviving family, who live in Southampton, have not seen or heard from her.

DS Williams said there had been no definite sightings of Mrs Ziv since she first went missing and the police have no leads.

He added: "The trail goes cold after she went to the bank."

Mrs Ziv is 5ft 5in tall and was wearing a black top and blue jeans.
