Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill have proved their screen chemistry isn't just for show as they attended the Hollywood premiere of their latest film, 22 Jump Street.

The pair, who reprise their roles as undercover cops Greg Jenko and Morton Schmidt respectively in the comedy sequel, said working together didn't feel laborious because they are such good friends in real life.

"Come on, it's great. It's like just hanging out with friends," Channing said about their reunion, as he walked up the red carpet at Regency Village Theatre. "It's like Bad Boys II. Bad boys for life. It's awesome."

Jonah added: " I'm just here to hang out and be this guy's wingman."

Two years have passed since the duo shared screen time in 21 Jump Street, which is based on the 1987 television series of the same name.

Asked what he learnt about his co-star, Jonah said: " Channing had a daughter since the first one so I got to learn what a great dad he has become."

The Magic Mike actor added: "He got nominated twice (for Oscars) since the last time we were together, so I'd say that's something. Other than that he is awesome."

Channing admitted his co-star sometimes gives him a ribbing. He recalled: " One day, we were shooting a skit and the door locked accidentally as I was out, so when I tried to come back in, I walked into it. Forty-five minutes after that, we couldn't shoot anything because they were just making fun of me. So you just have to wait it out sometimes."

Jillian Bell, who plays college student Mercedes, said: "We were in New Orleans and Puerto Rico, so you're just drinking and hanging out with the funniest people on the planet. We had such a good time. The whole script was hysterical."

Ice Cube and Dave Franco also star in 22 Jump Street, which is in cinemas now.
