Eva Green has said she doesn't understand the controversy surrounding a Sin City 2 poster which features the actress.
The former Bond girl can be seen in a sheer robe which shows off her figure and bright red lipstick, holding a pistol in the sequel's film noir-style poster. It has since been edited to fit the Motion Picture Association of America's (MPAA) requirements.
"I find it a bit odd. It seems like it's all just publicity - a lot of noise for nothing," the French actress told Vanity Fair.
"You have so many more violent things in the movie business and this is kind of soft. I'm not naked. It's suggested. I'm not actually naked on the poster."
Eva, who plays Ava Lord in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, said she is proud of the poster's artwork.
"I find it really sexy, actually. It's kind of beautiful. But if it shocks people, I don't know what to do about it. I don't want to upset anybody," she said.
"I don't want to be seen as just the femme fatale or put into some silly box. I hope that people will have enough imagination."
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which also stars Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis, will be released on August 22.
