Actress and TV personality Claire Sweeney said her dreams have come true at once as she announced she is five months pregnant with her ex-fiancee's son.
The 43-year-old former Brookside star remains close friends with software tycoon Daniel Reilly and both were said to be "absolutely delighted" with the impending arrival of their first child.
Claire, who is starring in a play she co-wrote at the Liverpool Royal Court called Sex And The Suburbs, and 29-year-old Mr Reilly suffered a miscarriage in 2012.
Her agent, Jonathan Shalit, said: "Claire could not be happier. To be pregnant and starring in her own show in her home town of Liverpool is all her dreams come true at once."
In an interview with OK! Magazine last year the actress revealed that she had been to a fertility consultation after losing a baby with Mr Reilly after just 12 weeks.
Tests revealed that she was biologically fit and she claimed to have been delighted when the doctor guessed her age as 28.
At the time she said: "When we lost the baby, I was very philosophical about it. It wasn't meant to be. Things weren't right."
The former couple revealed that their preference was to have a little boy or even twin boys.
They also revealed plans to hold their wedding in the House of Lords after getting engaged on Christmas Eve in 2012.
Sweeney appeared on the first Celebrity Big Brother in 2001, was a contestant on the first edition of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 and has been a guest panellist on ITV's Loose Women.
She has also featured in numerous pantomimes and starred in West End musicals such as Guys and Dolls and Chicago.
