George Clooney reportedly proposed to fiancee Amal Alamuddin over a home-cooked meal.
The Hollywood heartthrob apparently whipped up a romantic dinner for the London lawyer at his Los Angeles home, then got down on one knee and popped the question with a seven-carat diamond ring.
A source told The New York Post's Page Six: "George cooked a meal himself for Amal at home on April 22, then he surprised her by getting down on bended knee and presenting her with the ring.
"He was so happy she accepted, he was calling friends with the news later that night."
Two days later George, 52, and Amal, 36, celebrated their engagement over dinner at Nobu in Malibu with the actor's close friends later Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber.
Their happy news became public after human rights barrister Amal was spotted flashing her huge sparkler - which Gravity star George helped to design - at the restaurant.
Page Six also said that George and Amal could be walking down the aisle this year.
"It's only four months away but they want to get married at the end of the summer, in early September, before Amal returns to work," an insider said.
