Cilla Black has said she could not be happier that Sheridan Smith is playing her in an upcoming biopic.
The Blind Date star is set to be the subject of an ITV drama and told Digital Spy she was delighted Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps star Sheridan had been cast as her.
She said: "I love her. She's fabulous. We went to dinner and I gave her my cell phone number.
"I said, 'If you ever fall down on anything and you want a little bit of advice,' but she hasn't phoned me yet, so everything must be going swimmingly."
Cilla added that she was also a fan of the biopic's script, penned by Philomena writer Jeff Pope.
It concentrates on singer-turned-presenter Cilla's rise to fame in 1960s Liverpool and also stars The White Queen's Aneurin Barnard as her husband Bobby.
She said: "I'm very flattered. I read the script and loved it.
"It's really a love story between Bobby and I."
