Peaches' last baby column published

This Is Local London: Peaches Geldof's last parenting column has been published posthumously Peaches Geldof's last parenting column has been published posthumously

Peaches Geldof wrote about her life of "bliss" in her final parenting column - published posthumously - before her death.

The 25-year-old mother of two had recently signed up as a columnist for Mother & Baby magazine.

The words, in which she credits her young sons Astala and Phaedra with rescuing her from a life of "wanton wanderlust", have been published following her sudden death "as a tribute to Peaches and with the blessing of her family".

Peaches penned the column some time before her 25th birthday in March, writing: " I wanted an anchor - I craved it.

"And, when I had two wailing, smiling, joyful little blobs of waddling pink flesh, they became my entire existence, and saved me from one of pure apathy."

The former party girl wrote that she found herself suddenly "friendless" and felt "alienated" as "fair-weather" friends didn't want to know once she couldn't go out for "wine-soaked" dinners.

But she soon realised that "everything else was nothingness and it just... didn't matter. I had the perfect life - two beautiful babies who loved me more than anything. It was, and is, bliss."

"Now, with a new-found group of mummy mates, both locally and online... I'm happier than ever," she said.

"My real old friends have stuck by me and connect me to my old life (I sometimes forget I'm only 24), treating me to nights out that let me forget about dirty nappies at least for a minute.

"So, I've achieved a sort of perfect balance."

Peaches, whose TV presenter mum Paula Yates died in 2000 of a drug overdose, added: "Right now life is good. And being a mum is the best part of it."
